Thunderbird Model News - 015 - Matchbox News

Greetings

A very brief Newsletter this month as we are into the pre Christmas lull.

Only new model spotted is the Matchbox MB-42 1:63 1957 Mould in another guise, this time as the "USA" car in the 50th birthday series.
Only seems to be available in a 3 pack from Toys R Us, a few have appeared on ebay, but all the sellers are saying "US shipping only" so if you happen to find a spare in your local store ..........

A MB Railway set sneaked through onwww.ebay.co.uk, very few bidders as the set was missing the powerpack ! (they do tend to melt down when connected to UK 240volt power)
I was outbid but then was pleasantly surprised when the buyer mailed me saying he only wanted the Railway Engine and did I want the cars !!!
A new Book on Lone Star - "The Bumper Book of Lone Star Diecast Models and Toys 1948-88"
http://www.lone-star-diecast-bk.com/book.html
Sadly both the MiniMarque43 Company and Somerville Models are up for sale following the (unconnected) deaths of their respective founders, Richard Briggs and Doug McHard.
No new pages onwww.tbirduk.com this month, I have been busy clearing my small collection of Oxford Die Cast, as I need the Wall space for T-Birds !

Good Hunting

Pete
